Resting in Christ – Eternal Rest

Hebrews 4:10

“Whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.”

Reflection:

Ah, what a day it will be! My soul longs for that day! Though I already have a foretaste of the rest of heaven today because my sins are forgiven and I am already a citizen of heaven, still, I am tired. The sorrow of the world is far more than I can bare. I want to do what I can to fix it…but I would really prefer it if my Lord returned and made all things well as only He can do!

Still, I know it is the will of the Lord for me to work for His glory today. You and I are still here. Let us remember, then that while dying is gain for the Christian, to live is Christ. Let us fix our minds on the truth that the suffering of this world cannot compare to the glories that are to be revealed to us. One day we will rest completely in the Rest of God. Today, let us remember Him who endured the cross for the joy set before Him, that we might go through this day with peace warming our hearts and joy guiding our feet that we might do all things for the glory of Him who has won eternal rest for us.

In Christ,
