Resting in Christ

Matthew 11:28

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Reflection:

Are you tired? Do you look at the day ahead and sigh with weariness?

Jesus says to you right now, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” The rest that Jesus offers you is a deep rest unavailable anywhere else. This is the rest Jesus offers: peace with God today and forever.

You could go through your day without peace in God. You could go through your life knowing that you were created for a greater purpose, knowing that you should be following God, but failing to do so. You could go through your day with the threat of judgment hanging over your head like an axe ready to fall at a moment’s notice.

Or, by grace through faith in Christ, you could go through your day at perfect peace with God! You could go through your day knowing that you have peace today and you will have it always because Jesus Christ has died for your sins and made you righteous. You could go through your day walking closely with God, doing all things in His power and for His glory, while you look forward to an eternity in heaven with Him who loves you dearly.

How do you want to go through your day today?

In Christ,

Pastor Yonkman
