Replacing Evil with God – Love

Colossians 3:14

“And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.”

Reflection:

Put on love. Don’t just stop evil. Put on love – specifically, love for others, a love that binds people together in perfect harmony. This is not love as an emotion; this is love as an action. Yes, putting on love begins with your heart. It begins with praising the Lord and thanking Him for Christ in your heart. It begins with replacing hateful or bitter thoughts with kind and encouraging thoughts. Yet as you are striving to cut sin out of your life, God is calling you here to cut it out and then replace it with action. Get up and do something else! Find a person who needs love and pray for the person, call the person, visit the person, do something to encourage and strengthen someone else in Christ. God needs to be glorified. People need to be helped. And strengthened in Christ. Both of these lofty and worthy goals can be achieved by putting off your sin and putting on love.

In Christ,
