1 John 5:12-13
“He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.”
Reflection:
Why is the book of First John written? Here is at least one reason: “So that you may know that you have eternal life.”
Christian, you need not wonder! You need not speculate and go back-and-forth, indecisively contemplating whether or not you will go to heaven. You may know that you have eternal life! It is this easy: believe in the Name of the Son of God. Believe in Jesus. You are done! Just like that, by following that one step, you may know that you have eternal life! Whoever has the Son has life! You gain the Son by faith in Him. Now, by His life, death, and resurrection, He has won salvation for you and given it to you today and forevermore.
