The Underappreciated Suffering of Jesus – Growing Up

Luke 2:52

“And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature.”

Reflection:

Why would JESUS need to increase in wisdom and stature? He is GOD!!! He is wisdom!

When we think of how Jesus suffered for our sin, we rightly think of the cross. Yet do not overlook how Jesus, out of His love for you, suffered pain and humiliation from the moment of His incarnation. When He took on humanity, He had to grow in wisdom and stature! He had to learn how to hold a hammer. He had to wear clothes that did not fit Him. He had to grow up! Think of the absurdity and humiliation of that idea: God…had to grow up. Yet He did it all for your sake. It is right for us to thank Him for it.

In Christ,
