The Love of God in Time – Eternity Future

Revelation 22:5

“They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.”

Reflection:

Other people have gotten tired of me. Even I have tired of myself. How can it be that God, who knows me even better than I know myself, will love me today, tomorrow, and every single day of eternity? How can God say that He will gladly have me by His side not to reign with Him for a day, not to spend a month or two in His palace, but to reign with Him “forever and ever?” Christian, marvel today at these two truths: First, God can promise to dwell with you and love you “forever and ever” because Jesus Christ has made you worthy of the everlasting love of God. He has died for ALL of your sin. He has given you His righteousness which has no holes or flaws in it. For this first reason, because of the finished work of Christ, God will love you for eternity. Yet second, God will also love you for yourself. He loves you so now, even as you wrestle with weakness and temptation. Yet His love will be perfected in heaven when you are perfected. He will give to you a stone with a name just for you personally, a name known only between you and Him, as He delights in you who are made perfect (Rev. 2:17).

I do not know what your day ahead of you holds. Yet Christian, face that day knowing this: God has loved you in eternity past, in your past, He loves you today, and He will love you in the future and eternity future.

In Christ,
