Learning from Animals in Scripture – The Lion

Revelation 5:5

“And one of the elders said to me, “Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.”

Reflection:

Let us learn today from the Lion.

There is no passage in Scripture that tells you to be like a Lion, devouring your enemies or trampling those who get in your way. Rather, the concept of the Lion is especially applied to Jesus Christ. It is an image of power and majesty. The lesson to learn from the Lion today is not that you yourself should be the lion. Instead, learn how the lion is to be respected and that lion is none other than Jesus Christ, the King of Creation to whom every knee will bow and every tongue confess that He is the Lord.

In Christ,
