Christian Hope – The God of Hope

Writer: Travis YonkmanTravis Yonkman

Romans 15:13

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”

Reflection:

Romans 15:13 is not a wish that may or may not come true today. Paul was not crossing his fingers and saying to you, “Oh, I really hope that God will bless you, but I’m not sure if he will!” Romans 15:13 is God’s promise to you today. The entire book has already established that even though you have sinned against Him, God has redeemed you completely and adopted you int His family through Jesus Christ who has died for all of your sins and given you His righteousness. Romans 15:13 is God’s promise to you where He says, “Christian, because of the finished work of Christ and through the Holy Spirit, the God of hope will fill you today with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you will abound in hope.”
