1 Peter 1:3
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
Reflection:
So many people’s greatest hopes are dying hopes. These are not necessarily morally bad hopes; they are just dying hopes. “I hope I have good health.” “I hope I win.” “I hope I get more money.”
Christian, let this truth from the Word of God fill your mind and your heart this morning: you have a living hope! Not only do you have a living hope, but you have a hope that will live today, and tomorrow, and 10,000 years from now, and forever! Christian, your hope is Jesus Christ! Your hope is God Himself! Your hope has risen from the dead. Your hope has conquered death. Your hope dwells in heaven and will return to bring you with Him forevermore!
Which hope would you like to dwell on throughout your day today: a dead hope, or a living hope?
