Psalm 103:11-12
“For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.”
Reflection:
My love is so fickle and paltry. I know the love God deserves…yet my passion fizzles with the smallest drop of rain. I know the love I ought to give to others…yet my energy fails and my mind gets distracted, and before I know it the day has passed and I have failed to love as I ought.
Praise the Lord that the love of God never runs out!
Christian, God tells you in Psalm 103 that His love for you extends as far as the east is from the west. That is how far God has removed your sin from you. That is how long God will love you. Even if you picked only one of the two direction, still, His love for you would never run out. Start in the spot you are in now and imagine a line running to the east…then keep going east. Even if the universe is finite, the direction is not. It is a line running infinitely in the same direction. Yet the love of God for you also extends infinitely in the other direction as well! How wonderful, how splendid, how strengthening to know that the love of God for you in Jesus Christ will never run out!
In Christ,
