Mark 10:21-22, 26-27
“Go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” Disheartened by the saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions… And they were exceedingly astonished, and said to him, “Then who can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.””
Reflection:
Choose one of the following. You may only choose one. You may not choose part of one and part of another. It does not work that way. They are mutually exclusive. Choose one and ONLY ONE that you want today:
Option 1: Christ
Option 2: Possessions
Again, choose only one. If you truly could not have both, which would you choose? You might cry out, “If that is truly my choice, who then can be saved!” Yet what is not possible with man is possible with God. Know this day that it is worth it to sell all you have to gain the Pearl of Great Price. You really do have the choice between Jesus Christ and stuff. You can only have one God / god. It is worth it to choose Christ. He is the better God by far.
In Christ,
